Marketplace Disclaimer

Last updated: 7 July 2026

This Marketplace Disclaimer explains the role — and the strict limits of the role — of Watch Chamber Group Limited ("Watch Chamber") in relation to sales, purchases and auctions of watches listed on watchchamber.co.uk (the "Platform"). It forms part of, and must be read together with, the Terms & Conditions.

1. Watch Chamber is a marketplace only

Watch Chamber operates an advertising platform. Watch Chamber is not:

  • the seller of any watch;
  • the buyer of any watch;
  • an agent, broker, dealer, or auctioneer;
  • an escrow or payment provider for Transactions;
  • a custodian, holder or shipper of watches;
  • an authenticator, appraiser, valuer, or inspector of watches;
  • a guarantor of any Seller, any Buyer, any Listing, or any Transaction.

2. Watch Chamber does not handle Transaction money

Watch Chamber does not process, hold, escrow, route or intermediate any payment for a watch sale under any circumstances. Money moves directly between Buyer and Seller using whatever payment method they agree. The only money paid to Watch Chamber is Listing fees and Members Club subscriptions, which are processed by Stripe and buy advertising space or a subscription — not a watch.

3. No authentication, inspection, or valuation

Watch Chamber does not inspect, physically handle, service, appraise, value, or authenticate any watch listed. No listing, badge, or communication from Watch Chamber constitutes confirmation of authenticity, condition, provenance, box or papers status, service history, or fair value. Buyers must obtain independent authentication and inspection before purchasing — see the Buyer Safety Guide.

4. Dealer verification is not an authenticity guarantee

A Verified Dealer badge confirms only that Watch Chamber has completed the checks described in the Dealer Verification Policy (identity, business legitimacy, trading information). It is not a warranty of authenticity, financial stability, watch quality, or future conduct.

5. Buyer responsibility

Buyers are solely responsible for their purchasing decisions, including verifying seller identity, arranging independent authentication, inspecting the watch (in person where practical), agreeing shipping and insurance, and selecting a secure payment method. See the Buyer Safety Guide.

6. Seller responsibility

Sellers are solely responsible for their Listings and Transactions, including legal title, accuracy of descriptions and photographs, authenticity, communication with Buyers, packaging, dispatch, insurance, refunds and consumer-law compliance. See the Seller Rules & Standards.

7. No liability for Transactions

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Watch Chamber accepts no liability for loss arising from any Transaction, including but not limited to: non-authenticity, misdescription, non-delivery, non-payment, damage in transit, disputes between Buyer and Seller, seller insolvency, or fraud by another user. Watch Chamber's overall liability is limited as set out in clause 18 of the Terms & Conditions.

8. Reporting and moderation

Watch Chamber removes Listings and suspends accounts that breach our policies (see the Acceptable Use Policy and Counterfeit & Illegal Goods Policy) but does not thereby assume responsibility for the underlying Transaction. Concerns can be raised through the Complaints Procedure.
