Watch Chamber is an advertising marketplace only — see the Marketplace Disclaimer. Buyers transact directly with Sellers and are responsible for their own due diligence. This guide is provided as practical information and is not a warranty or endorsement.
Have any high-value watch independently authenticated — through the brand's authorised service centre, a reputable independent watchmaker, or a specialist third-party authentication service. Do not rely on the Listing photographs alone.
Where possible, inspect the watch in person. Check case condition, dial and hand originality, movement, case-back engravings, serial and reference numbers, and box and papers. Compare against known reference details for that model.
Confirm identity, address and — for Dealers — business details. A Verified Dealer badge indicates Watch Chamber has completed identity and business checks, but is not an authenticity guarantee.
If meeting in person, use a safe, public location (an authorised service centre or a bank is ideal for high-value handovers). Bring a companion where possible. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
Prefer payment methods that offer buyer protection. Be cautious of instant bank transfers, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or any request for payment routed through unusual channels. Watch Chamber does not process Transaction payments, does not hold funds and does not provide escrow.
Agree tracked, insured, signed-for shipping appropriate to the value. Confirm insured value in writing with the courier and the Seller.
Report suspicious behaviour to info@watchchamber.co.uk or via the report tools on the Listing / profile. Formal complaints are handled under the Complaints Procedure.
Because payment moves directly between Buyer and Seller, refunds and remedies must first be pursued with the Seller. Dealers are subject to statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Watch Chamber may assist by removing offending Listings and suspending accounts under the Account Suspension & Appeals Policy, and by cooperating with law enforcement where appropriate.
